The American Indian Art Show/Marin has become the most significant showcase of Antique American Indian art on the west coast. In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Edward Curtis’s birth, Paul Unks, of Mountain Hawk Fine Art will be exhibiting restored photogravures and gold tones of Curtis’s masterworks. Unks will also give a special presentation on Curtis and the Native Americans, as well as a “How it’s Made” printing workshop showing the art and craft of how Curtis made, and now Unks makes, highly specialized photogravures and gold tones.

Master Photographs from Edward Curtis� The North American Indian. Limited edition Photogravures, Photographs and Giclees highly detailed in rich sepia tone. Mountain Hawk Fine Art has secured exclusive rights to the renowned 19th (nineteenth) century photographer�s original 20-volume master work at the University of Denver. Stored in a climate controlled vault since 1938, the complete intact set of 20 portfolios and 20 books is in pristine condition and has all 2,220 of Curtis� photographs produced as hand-pulled intaglio photogravures. From the dramatic landscapes of the American West and moving Portraits, to pictures of every day working and ceremonial life, the collection shows the Indians at the height of their 1800�s culture. Encompassing over 80 Indian Tribes of the Southwest, Plains, Plateau and Northwest, the body of work effectively preserves our Western American History, as well as Native American History and Culture.
